Photography
Elizabeth has been actively involved in photography since the mid-1980s. She is the Patron and a Life Member of the Greymouth Photography Club, located on the West Coast of New Zealand’s South Island. She is also a member of the Photographic Society of New Zealand, the Nature Photography Society of New Zealand, the Australian Photographic Society, the Photographic Society of America and the Global Photographic Union.
Elizabeth has been entering photographic exhibitions both in New Zealand and internationally for many years, from which she has won numerous awards. She was appointed an accredited judge of the Photographic Society of New Zealand in 1995 and judges from club level through to national and international exhibitions.
Since 2019 she has been a Verifying Officer for APS, and a Star Ratings Coordinator/Director for PSA. In 2025 she added PID Monochrome Interclub Director and Exhibition Grievances Coordinator to her volunteer roles in PSA. She was also involved in establishing the Greymouth Photography Club’s Māwhera National Salon of Photography in 2023, of which she is currently Chairperson.
In recognition of her ability and skill as a photographer, Elizabeth was awarded a Fellowship of the Photographic Society of New Zealand (FPSNZ) in 1999, and a Fellowship of the Nature Photography Society of New Zealand (FNPSNZ) in 2010.
Through her success in the exhibitions, she earned an Excellence distinction from the Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique (EFIAP) in 2009 and the EFIAP Bronze level in 2024, an Excellence distinction from the Photographic Society of America (EPSA) in 2019, the Australian Photographic Society Exhibitor’s Medal (APSEM) in 2023, and her first two Crown distinctions from the Global Photographic Union (GPU CR2) in 2024.
For her services to photography, she was the recipient of a PSA Service Award in 2020, was elected an Associate of the Photographic Society of America (APSA) in 2023, and in 2024 was awarded the honour of SAPS from the Australian Photographic Society.
